Scope of Work
The Bates Elementary School located in Wellesley, MA was a complex project that involved a combination of extensive renovations to the existing facility and construction of three separate additions. As part of the project, the three separate additions were connected to the existing school, new site utilities were installed, parking lots were built and new recreation areas were created, including completely landscaped grounds. The project was designed to be built in six phases spanning 22 months while maintaining school operations.
During the construction process BBB Corp. proposed and eventually implemented an alternate phasing plan that resulted in completing the project five months ahead of schedule. This unprecedented accomplishment was a result of the relationship and trust built during the project with the Town of Wellesley Permanent Building Committee, the School Department, and the architectural firm HMFH. Through team work we were able to provide both a safer site for the faculty and students and an early finish to the project.
