Paris Street Community Center Reopens After Major Renovation
Boston, MA - - July 15, 2017 – Today, after a $12 million, two-year renovation, the Paris Street Community Center in East Boston reopened for the public. Mayor Martin J. Walsh, members of the Boston Centers for Youth & Families (BCYF) and City of Boston’s Public Facilities Department along with Boston Building & Bridge were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate successful completion of this project. With the renovation of this center, nearly all BCYF centers in freestanding municipal buildings have been renovated over the past decade.
As general contractor, Boston Building & Bridge worked closely with the City of Boston’s Public Facilities Department and architect Fennick McCredie on the extensive renovations that were designed and built to maintain the historical integrity of the Center (originally built in 1910). The construction work included interior upgrades of all mechanical systems and boilers, window/door replacements, athletics facility improvements and technology upgrades.
